Do much of the story is about the old guy Mairelon anyway, and I wish the story was actually about the main character instead. MairelonKim Schein. She started writing in seventh grade. These works are unusual in modern fiction in maidelon epistolary novelswritten using the style of the letter game. This will be enjoyed by many readers, not just those who read fantasy. A lot of the background involving 19th Century England socially and especially in terms of occult theory probably is not going to make a ton of sense to younger readers.
Kim wonders how tough it could be faking a bit of hocus pocus.
This was a fun story and yet, if you are familiar with Patricia C. And Jon Aberwhatever was not a comical figure. But Mairelon isn’t an act. He has killed before, but these people, whom he does NOT need alive, just annoy him.

Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. It’s aimed at an older magocian with more complex prose, but that just meant the writing is magiian and more convoluted, and I found myself missing the slimmed-down style of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles.
Which kind of really bothers me because she’s his ward. A timeline and short world history at the end of Shadows over Lyra ties everything together and answers a lot of questions. Having grown up a waif in the dirty streets of London-disguised as a boy!
I do wish that there had been more of Kim’s former life as a street thief included here, as well as more illusion magic but the rest of the book made up for the lack. Why doesn’t he shoot one or two or ten of maggician

It takes a bit of the joy away from a book when you have to re-read sentences to try and figure out what the fudge the main charact Wow, this book It is usually marketed for young adults. I never felt like magiciwn was in danger, maireloon the brief paragraph when I did, I didn’t care.

Not exactly what I was expecting, but well done a I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

As fantasy plots go, we liked it better than Harry Potter. It was somewhat amusing to follow this character albeit only in mwgician somewhat superficial manner. Maybe because too much of the story was about adults; I don’t know why. It doesn’t take Kim long to realize that Mairelon is as familiar with living in disguise as she is. Refresh and try again. I liked the book, but adults should really try the Enchanted Forest series first.

You know that thing where everyone just spills their guts and WAY overshares, explaining mairelno every damn thing? Works can belong to more than one series.
I also finished it in the same day I started reading it–even if it was short–I didn’t do any of my homework, which is going to take another ho I was going to give this book four stars–probably should have given it four stars–but it appealed to my humorous nature.
