It’s possible that the comparatively short length of her eating disorder contributed to her fast recovery, but projecting the simplistic idea of ‘I just started to eat’ is frustrating for both sufferers and their families.
Renn can get a self-aggrandizing here – it is her book, so I guess she has the right to do that. Hearing about someone blazing their own path is inspiring and invigorating.
Here’s the strange part: I was super excited to read this, then I actually started it and I was kind of let down. Renn summarizes some research regarding anorexia and gives valuable insight into what its like for a new model to get signed and start going to go-sees.
