I already own a lot of the mainstream books for classical trumpet playing. I think the Franquin method is great, and I’d recommend it highly. A more modern form of this instrument was introduced to American symphony orchestras by Georges Magerand it remains very much in popular use in the United States. It is a beautiful book and I am thrilled to make it available in English at a third of the cost of the French edition no less.

Georges Mager —who was principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from untilstudied in the cornet class under Joseph Mellet, but seems to have been influenced as well by the teachings of Franquin; Mager may have studied with him informally and certainly worked with several of his successful students.
